websites for local businesses

The assistant gives one answer, not ten links. Whoever it names gets the customer.

Be the answer.

We build websites for local businesses — the ones Google knows as a pin, a rating and a phone number, with nothing behind them. Fast pages, real structure, and the markup that lets a search engine and an AI assistant both say your name.

what we build

Three kinds of work.

Most businesses need the first. Some need the second on top of it. A few want the third, and we take a small number of those.

presence

A website for a business that doesn’t have one.

Today a stranger meets you as a map pin, five photographs and a phone number. Everything they actually want to know before choosing you — what you do, what it costs, when you’re open, what it’s like inside — is written down nowhere they can find it.

We write it and we build it: your services, your hours, your prices if you want them public, your own photographs, on pages that open instantly on a phone held one-handed in a queue.

your own domain · one page or many · plain HTML that works before JavaScript does

visibility

Found by search, and by the machines people ask instead.

The old discipline done properly: fast pages, one addressable page per service, and schema.org markup that states your address, hours, services and prices in a form a machine doesn’t have to guess at.

Then the new part — writing those pages so an answer engine can quote them. Increasingly it is the assistant, not the customer, that reads your site first.

flagship

The best site in your category.

Not a template with your photographs dropped into it. A site built around one idea about your business — its own typography, its own way of moving, its own way of being moved through. The site your competitors send to their designer and ask for.

It takes longer and it costs more. We run a small number of them at a time, which is the only way they stay good.

Talk about a flagship build

the shift

A search returns ten links. An assistant returns one answer.

Ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Google’s AI for the best spa near Sector 104 and you don’t get a page of options to weigh up. You get a short paragraph naming two or three places. Most people stop there.

Those names come from text a machine could read, parse and attribute. A business with no website has no text. A business whose site is a slideshow, a PDF menu, or a page that needs JavaScript before it says anything, has text that nothing can quote.

Some people are calling this AEO — answer engine optimisation. Most of it is the ordinary discipline done properly. The genuinely new part is smaller and stranger: you are writing for a reader that will paraphrase you to someone who will never see your page.

structured data
schema.org LocalBusiness, Service and FAQPage — your hours, geo-coordinates, services and prices stated in a form that needs no interpretation.
text in the page
Every word rendered in the HTML itself. Nothing that appears only after a script runs, because plenty of readers never run one.
one page per thing
Each service and each location gets its own address on the web, so it can be cited on its own instead of buried in a homepage.
the real questions
What customers ask before they book — parking, timing, price, what to bring — answered in a sentence each, in the words they used.
one identity
Name, address and phone identical on your site, your Google profile and every directory. Machines work out who you are by agreement between sources.
a weight budget
No hero video, no consent wall, no five tracking scripts. Pages that are slow to load are slow to be crawled and slow to be read.

Nothing on this page waits for JavaScript. Its structured data is in the source. It weighs less than one of your photographs.

how it works

We build it first.

find

We go looking.

We look for businesses near us that Google knows about and the web doesn’t — a pin, a rating, a phone number, and either no website or one nobody has touched in years.

build

We build it before we ask you for anything.

Your photographs, your hours, your services, written properly. Then we send you a link: the actual site, working, on your phone. There is nothing to sign to see it.

live

You decide, and only then.

If you want it, we point your domain at it, connect it to your Google Business Profile and switch on indexing. If you don’t, say so and it ends there — it was never public, and nothing is owed.

You don’t have to take our word for any of this. That’s the point of building it first.

Flagship projects run the other way round — a conversation first, because that idea has to come out of your business, not out of your listing.

one address

Send us your listing.

Paste the link to your business on Google Maps — or just the name and the area. We’ll come back with what we’d build and what it would cost.
